Carlsbad Outreach Center

Director: Jack Coleman

The Carlsbad Outreach Center, located at 1318 Mermod, Carlsbad NM, is open Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, from 9:00 a.m.-12:00p.m. The center provides assistance for low income families and for families experiencing an emergency situation. This institution is an equal opportunity provider. The family must meet certain criteria to receive assistance. Those receiving assistance with food can also receive clothing.

Churches, individuals, and civic groups in the Carlsbad area are encouraged to donate canned goods and other nonperishable foods, as well as volunteer to help at the center. All the people serving at the outreach center are volunteers who give of their time and talents to help those in need.

Please pray for those in need who are helped through the Carlsbad Outreach Center. Each month we touch the lives of 100-150 families in that area. The Center is a mission outreach of the Pecos Valley Baptist Association. The Center gives out a standardized family food box. Included in that box is:

1 box of macaroni and cheese

1 12 oz. bag of elbow noodles

1 can of chili

2 cans of canned tomatoes

Spaghetti sauce

2 cans of fruit (peaches, pears)

2 cans of meat (tuna fish, Vienna sausages, etc.)

4 cans of veggies (peas, corn, green beans, etc.)

1 lb. of beans

1 lb. of rice

Here are some ways you or your church can help touch the lives of others:

1) Financially:

*Include the COC in your church’s annual budget

*Receive a special offering for the COC or with your VBS mission offering

*Support through giving to the I Love PVBA annual mission offering

2) Food Boxes:

*Donate items that are used to make up food boxes (such as a case of tuna fish)

*Sunday School classes, mission groups, etc. make up several food boxes

3) Other Needed Items:

     *Bibles

     *Good condition used clothing

     *Toiletries

     *Blankets and winter coats

4) Volunteers:

*We need volunteers to help serve clients and process donations

*We need volunteers to assist with greeting clients

*We need volunteers to pray with and share Christ with clients
