Joseph Tillery - Director of Missions

Joseph is an Associational Missionary in Pecos Valley Association, Artesia, New Mexico with the Associational Strategy Team endorsed by the North American Mission Board.

Previously, Joseph was Associate Pastor of First Baptist Church in Deer Park, Texas.  He also has been an Associate Pastor, Pastor, Education/Youth Pastor and Children/College Pastor in Texas, New Mexico and Arkansas.

Joseph was born January 21, 1954 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.  He attended Ouachita Baptist University receiving his BA in Sociology/Religion/History.  He continued his education at Eastern New Mexico University.

Joseph is married Sharon L. Tillery and they have two daughters. Angela and husband Bobby Laird live in La Porte, TX. Katie and husband Chad Cook and son Kalebh Joshua live in Lockney, TX.

Joseph and Sharon are frequent conference leaders for Sunday School, Family Ministry, Marriage, and Church Growth.

Cathy Pennington - Executive Administrative Assistant

Cathy serves as Administrative Assistant for Pecos Valley Baptist Association. She also serves as Office Manager for Midway Baptist Church where her husband, Leo, is pastor.

Cathy is a certified Ministry Multiplier for ministry assistants for the Southern Baptist Convention. She leads conferences throughout the country.

She is also active with the Pecos Valley Baptist Association Disaster Relief Feeding Unit. She serves as chief cook or the unit's Blue Hat. She also leads conferences for Involving Southern Baptists in Disaster Relief.

Cathy is married to Leo V. Pennington. They have two sons. Curtis lives in Artesia and has two children Chance and Cydney, and two step-children, Dustey and Tisha. Their son Eldon is deceased and had one child, Dustin. June 26th Cathy became a Great-Grandmother when Hayden Marie was born to Tisha.
